Loving God - Creating Hope - Changing Lives

Note: Walk to Emmaus isn't a St. Paul's UMC ministry although we do support those who attend this program.
The Gospel according to St. Luke Relates the story of the risen Christ appearing to two men who were going along the road from Jerusalem to Emmaus.
They were walking together, sharing their hearts' deepest concerns. The risen Christ joined them and explained the scriptures as they walked, how it was ordained that Christ should suffer and so enter his glory. This experience on the road was a heart-warming experience as the risen Christ walked and talked with them.
The illuminating climax of the experience was when Christ took bread and said the blessing, then broke it and gave it to them. The two had their eyes opened and they recognized him as the risen Christ and they rushed back to Jerusalem to tell the others. - Luke 24:13-35

"Sing to the LORD, all the earth; proclaim His salvation day after day.
Declare His glory among the nations, His marvelous deeds among all peoples."
- 1 Chronicles 16:23-24
DeColores is a Spanish word that literally translated means "of colors" or "all in colors".
It is felt that DeColores came about when a bus load of people in Spain broke down, and these people had to walk something like 20 miles. DeColores was a Spanish folk song long before the beginning of the Walk to Emmaus movement. When the bus broke down, everyone sang to pass the time and this was one of the songs that they sang over and over and they kept making up new verses as they walked along (90+ versus are known to exist). Here is one version of the unofficial song of the Walk to Emmaus.
