Loving God - Creating Hope - Changing Lives

Dr. Charles & Belinda Alkula come to us as a committed team, eager to go where they are called to serve, having recently completed six years of service at the Stevensville UMC in Montana. Pastor Charles particularly enjoys preaching and teaching, is an ardent student of Wesleyan history, and is a life-long United Methodist, understanding that the Church doesn’t always get it right... He is not afraid of tough questions, and he strongly believes in reconciling ministry.
Pastor Charles is of Finnish heritage, coming originally from northeast Ohio. His experiences in college, the Army, and as a Navy Chaplain appealed to his sense of adventure, taking the Alkula's to places like Nebraska, Japan, Cornwall (in England), Texas, and Montana before coming here. Belinda serves alongside her husband as a true helpmate; she has many interests and is very active in the United Methodist Women (UMW) at the Conference level. Dr. Alkula describes himself as focused, loyal, dedicated, likes to learn, be creative, and to exchange new ideas. The Alkula's share the parsonage with their cat, Wesley.
