Loving God - Creating Hope - Changing Lives
The Rev. Dr. Charles & Belinda Alkula come to us as a committed team, eager to go where they are appointed to serve by the bishop. Pastor Charles particularly enjoys preaching and teaching, is an ardent student of Wesleyan history, and is a life-long United Methodist, understanding that the Church doesn’t always get it right. He is not afraid of tough questions, and he strongly believes in reconciling ministry.
Pastor Charles is of Finnish heritage, coming originally from northeast Ohio. His experiences in college, the Army, and as a Navy Chaplain appealed to his sense of adventure, taking the Alkulas to places such as Nebraska, Rhode Island, Japan, North Carolina, Cornwall (in England), Texas, and Montana before coming to Colorado. Belinda serves alongside her husband as a true partner; she has many interests and is very active in the United Women in Faith at the Colorado Front Range District and Mountain Sky Conference level.
Dr. Alkula describes himself as focused, loyal, dedicated, likes to learn, be creative, and to exchange new ideas. The Alkula's share the parsonage with their cat, Wesley.
