Some of the missions taking place through the Mountain Sky Conference
Picture
Missions (Noun): The calling or vocation of an individual to go into the world and spread the Good News. Advocate (noun): A person who pleads for or on behalf of another; intercessor.

The Mountain Sky Conference (MSC) is continually engaged in various forms of mission aimed at those usually considered on the margins of society. Whether in our local communities or across the globe, the Mountain Sky Conference seeks to provide opportunities for education, mission giving, missionary support, and volunteering.

The MSC is committed to being in ministry with people across the United Methodist connection and around the globe. One way in which the conference does this is by advocating with and on behalf of a number of different groups found both inside and outside of the conference borders. Another way is by engaging in missions with those in our world who are in need.

If you are interested in engaging in a ministry of mission or advocacy with the MSC, please click on the relevant link or visit the Mountain Sky Conference Community Engagement page.

The Blackfeet United Methodist Parish (BUMP)

The people who live on the Blackfeet Reservation  located just east of Glacier  National Park in Montana. The majority of the present day residents living on the Blackfeet Reservation are bloodline descendants of the original indigenous inhabitants of this area.

Since 1882 the United Methodist Church has had a continuous presence on the Blackfeet Reservation. The participants in the ministry and programs of the Blackfeet United Methodist Parish reflect the cultural and racial diversity of the larger community. Most of the parish members are connected to the Blackfeet Nation by blood, marriage or occupation and are the bearers of much wisdom which comes from generations of the struggle for life with dignity.

Utilizing a nationally acclaimed, Two-Generation (2Gen) approach, Warren Village empowers disadvantaged single parents to regain self-esteem, reconnect to the community, and ultimately reclaim a productive place in the community. Learn more at this link.
